Kempner Rice Diet
A Powerful Lesson
It might be your first time hearing about the Kempner Rice Diet. As the name itself suggests, this was the brainchild of Dr Walter Kempner in 1939. The diet is composed mostly of rice and fruits, with occasional fruit juices and sugar.
The diet is low-salt, low-cholesterol, low-protein and carbohydrate rich (for energy). Dr Kempner wanted to relieve the workload of affected organs by giving them "clean food" and lessening the toxic effects of excess salt, fat, cholesterol and protein.
It was a treatment for the severely ill and it was highly-effective. It was found to:
- reduce obesity
- cure severe hypertension
- reverse heart disease
- improve both heart and kidney failure.
The Kempner Rice Diet was also low-taste, so it was difficult to follow and no-one enjoyed it. So why are we telling you about it? Because its effectiveness illustrates the power of eating right. It also illustrates that hypertension is something that most of us can cure with lifestyle changes alone.
